What’s arguably its best feature, though: You can load your own samples and run them through the Mellotron V’s tape playback emulation. Needless to say, Arturia’s emulation of the tape keyboard comes with all the flutes, strings, choirs, and other Mellotron classics. I’m actually surprised that they didn’t do this sooner, especially since emulations of other electro-mechanical instruments like the B3 organ and Wurlitzer have been part of the V Collection for a long time. I haven’t heard Arturia’s version yet, but the fact that there’s no risk of losing the tiny pins alone made this an ideal candidate for the V Collection.V Collection 7 also includes the Mellotron V.
